Temperatures to plunge before rain returns on Monday
Hot and sunny weather is being enjoyed throughout Portugal this Friday (May 27)… but not for much longer. Maximum temperatures are due to start dropping significantly tomorrow and rainfall is expected to return to most of the country between Monday and Wednesday.
Faro, the capital of the sunny Algarve region where maximum temperatures are reaching 28ºC today, will see its maximums drop to 25ºC on Saturday and 23ºC on Sunday, while minimums will remain relatively similar, ranging between 17ºC and 15ºC.
Monday will bring the same cooler weather to Faro, which is due for rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. Some parts of the Algarve may see some rainfall even earlier on Monday.
Lisbon is an even greater example of how the weather will take a sharp turn, with its maximum of 35ºC today dropping to just 23ºC tomorrow.
The warmer weather is expected to return gradually throughout most of Portugal by the following weekend.
