A weekend of warm, sunny weather is forecast for the Algarve, with temperatures as high as 32ºC.
Elsewhere in Portugal, milder temperatures and cloudy skies are expected, with maximums unlikely to top 25ºC in Lisbon and Porto and only the Alentejo (31ºC) set to come close to the beach weather of the Algarve.
Meantime, central and northern areas of Portugal are recovering from freak storms that caused floods and toppled trees yesterday (July 6).
According to Jornal de Notícias, firefighters received “tens of requests for help” in the boroughs of Mirando do Corvo (Coimbra), Amares (Braga) and Vila Real, Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Pinhão, Alijó, Mesão Frio, Santa Marta de Penaguião and Sabrosa (Vila Real).
The weather is expected to continue gloomy in these areas, though the rain was shortlived.
