Though the Algarve is enjoying a sunny Friday, Portugal is expecting another dismal weekend with forecasts talking of overcast skies, rain and even snow in high altitude (600/800m) areas.
Most of the bad weather should hit the north and centre, where places like Guarda are expecting snow (yet again) and temperatures nearing freezing.
The weather won’t be anything like as bad in the south, where the Algarve is on track for temperatures of 16ºC and even Lisbon should reach 14ºC in Lisbon.
Rain will be a constant threat however, especially on Saturday, with a number of coastal areas under “yellow alert” (Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Leiria, and Lisbon) as waves are expected to reach heights of 4.5m.
If forecasts are accurate, the dismal outlook should perk up by Tuesday.
