Slightly up on figures yesterday, Wednesday’s Covid bulletin has flagged another 979 people testing positive for Covid-19, with 41 deaths around the country. Again the majority of deaths (+25) and new cases (+426) has been in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, followed by the north (+8 deaths, 217 new cases), centre (+4 deaths, 118 new cases), Algarve (+3 deaths, 37 new cases) and Alentejo (+1 death, 31 new cases). Hospital numbers are down by 170 people to 1,827 patients nationally. ICUs are caring for 415 patients). Recoveries came in at 1,934 in the last 24-hours. No deaths in Azores or Madeira, but the number of new cases in the latter (+140) shows the Rt rate is still much too high. Azores is ‘doing well’ with just 10 new cases.
