Dear Editor,
Is there any truth in the rumour that August weather this year may reach 45ºC? We visit twice a year but now due to school holidays this year has to be August.
However, with a new baby who will be only five months and another member with heart trouble, we are being put off.
Obviously, you are not forcasters but has anything been mentioned of these sort of highs?

Editor’s note: Dear John, forecasts predict high temperatures this summer. In some regions in Portugal, like interior Alentejo, temperatures can be as high as 45ºC easily. However, it is not uncommon to have temperatures as high as 40ºC in the Algarve. I would seek advice from your doctor.
