Vilamoura will host the 2012 Iberian Kiteboarding Course Racing Championships from next Saturday, February 18.
The best performers from Portugal, which boasts Wave and Freestyle world champions Ines Correia and Gisela Pulido, will match forces with their Spanish colleagues in a wide range of disciplines which also include Open, Production and Twin Tip Board classes over the three-day event.
At the same time the resort’s Marina International Club is organising the 38th Carnival Sailing Tournament featuring over 500 competitors from seven countries including domestic Olympic hopefuls Gustavo Lima, Sara Carmo, Francisco Lobato and Rui Silveira attempting to secure their places at the sport’s pre-London World Championships in Germany.
