Vila do Bispo municipality plans to build a water sports centre, aimed at sea sport activities.
According to Vila do Bispo mayor Adelino Soares, construction of the project has received support from the Portuguese State Secretary of Sport.
“We received a positive answer from the government,” said Adelino Soares.
Costs are to be met by municipal funds plus financial support from central government.
Adelino Soares added: “We anticipate that the work will cost around 1.7 million Euros and should be completed in 2012.”
The structure should provide support for athletes who practice surf, body board and other sea sports at Costa Vicentina.
