NASA announced the discovery of water in mineral particles on the Moon’s surface, which are believed to have originated in unknown depths of the satellite’s core. The magmatic water was found in the Bullialdus crater by the ‘Chandrayaan 1’ probe, which collected data using a mineralogy tool. The information was then analysed by NASA researchers.
It is the first time that this form of water, which originates from deep within the Moon’s interior, has been detected by a lunar probe.
