The First Portuguese Water Dog International Meeting, to take place between September 25 and 29, organised by the CPC – Clube Português de Canicultura (Portuguese Kennel Club), will be held in Tavira, at the Pedras D’El Rei Resort. By counting on the support of the local city council, this event comprises several activities, which reside beyond the technical nature of the congress itself.
The Portuguese Water Dog embodies our national legacy and the breed’s birthplace is indisputably the Algarve region. These dogs have been intimately related with several fishing activities in the recent past, and are definitely connected to the Ria Formosa, bearing an unconditional belonging to the sea.
