Warm and dry

Spring time in Portugal will be warm and dry – these are the predictions of the Meteorological Institute.

Until the end of the month, lower-than-average rainfall and warmer-than-average temperatures are expected, particularly in inland Portugal, the area most affected by the current drought.

Portugal is facing a similar drought situation as in 2005 – the worst drought in the last 60 years – due to extremely low rainfall.

Read an in-depth report into the drought situation in the Algarve Resident issue of February 24.
