THE GOVERNMENT intends to allocate funds in the state budget to reinforce fiscal controls to fight tax evasion and corruption.
The plan was confirmed by the Secretary of State for Fiscal Matters, João Tomás, at the opening of an exhibition in Lisbon focusing on corruption.
Between 2006 and 2007, the government employed an additional 334 tax and fiscal inspectors.
