Around 500 people of all ages took to the streets of Castro Marim on Portuguese Mother’s Day (May 4) to take part in a three-kilometre charity walk to raise funds for Associação Oncológica do Algarve (AOA), the Algarve’s oncology association.
Nearly €2,000 was raised and handed over to the AOA on the same day. The funds will go towards helping the association build a home in Faro for cancer patients who travel from afar to undergo treatment in the city’s Radiology Unit.
