East Algarve assist Bombeiros
Further to €400 raised at the Christmas Dinner, bowlers Graham and Bob finished their 24-hour sponsored marathon at 7am on the morning of December 8. A tremendous effort by both members. In addition to these efforts, the EAWF Cycling Group managed to raise more than €350 at an evening in the Old Barrel Pub (Tavira) on December 7. Special Thanks went to Clive, Lorraine and their customers for their generosity. And the good news is that these combined fundraising efforts raised enough to provide an onboard computer for one of the Tavira fire engines.

Well done to all at East Algarve and I’m sure the Bombeiros are delighted to have such a useful and up-to-date appliance on one of their engines.

Over 70s catered for
Olhão have sessions every Friday morning between 9.30am and 11.30am for Over 70s. Rules including three touch, no tackling or contact, no running (they wish!) and players having to give opponents two metres space may seem “soft” to the 50- and 60-year-olds but health and safety have to be to the fore for the “seniors”. €3 a session.

Latest member
The Walking Football Association of Iberia is proud to announce that Brown’s in Vilamoura has become the latest member. We look forward to their participation in WFAI official tournaments and events.
