Bubbly and homemade cakes were the order of the day as East Algarve Walking Football celebrated the fifth birthday of walking football being introduced to the Algarve at Olhão. Since then, the sport has spread its wings to Tavira, Lagos, Vilamoura and Benfica (Lisbon). The weekly sessions in Tavira at the astro-turf pitch adjoining the Municipal Pavilion Dr. Eduardo Mansinho, Av. Zeca Afonso, now take place on Friday mornings from 9.30 to 11.30am.

International walking football
Lagos Strollers are staging their first International Tournament on October 14 and 15 at the Clube Desportivo de Odiáxere, near Lagos. Great facilities, entertainment across the two days and 16 teams from the UK, France, Spain and the Algarve competing in 50+ and 60+ age groups.
Browns Sports & Leisure Club in Vilamoura is hosting its autumn Algarve Walking Football Cup on October 4 and 5.
