A GROUP of nine people, under the banner of the Irish St. Patrick’s Society, has completed an arduous walk across the Algarve, a staggering distance of 260 kilometres or over six full marathons, in just nine days.
The Algarve Way is a long-distance footpath which runs from the Spanish border at Alcoutim on the Rio Guadiana to Cabo de São Vicente. It is certainly a way of seeing the real Algarve, well away from the central coastal strip, on foot.
Information about the walk, the history behind it and the terrain over which it passes can be found at The Algarve Way website. See right of this page for the clickable link.
