A fun Sunday morning (October 29) is being promised by the organisers of the ‘Carvoeiro Beach Walk Run’, a non-competitive event that aims to get everyone walking or running along the town’s streets.
The event is organised by Lagoa Council and the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ) and is open to anyone who would like to take part.
“This non-competitive event aims to encourage residents to increase their levels of physical activity to improve their overall health. Walks/runs are activities that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and suit all lifestyles,” organisers say.
The event is part of IPDJ’s regional walk/run calendar and will take place along the streets of Carvoeiro, with two routes to choose from (5km or 10km).
Admission is free and registrations can be made via email at [email protected], in person at local council or parish council offices, or on the day of the event at the beachside square starting at 9am.
Organisers recommend bringing your own water bottle.
