Walk in Wardrobe raises funds for charity

The third Walk in Wardrobe swish event on November 21 was a great success, raising 350 euros for charity.

Women of all ages brought along items of clothing and accessories they no longer wanted for the mammoth swap held at Restaurant Fonte de Pedra, near Portimão, which resulted in new additions to the participants’ wardrobes while raising money for Lagos-based animal charity Nandi and NECI, a Luz-based school that provides day care for mentally and physically handicapped children.

Women were also asked to donate a gift for a child to be distributed to the children living at the Bom Samaritano children’s home in Alvor.

There were also many stalls for those wanting a break from the swapping spree, with The Lemon Tree showcasing their collection of soaps, Fumeiros do Algarve offering smoked salmon, a jewellery stall and a collection of local traditional pottery. There was also a raffle, with prizes including a Bowen treatment, Monchique chocolates, beauty treatment, Lemon Tree soaps and a spin around the race track donated by Algarve Racing Services.
