Over 50 women took part in the Algarve’s second Walk In Wardrobe swish event on Saturday, May 23, and raised over 360 euros for charity in the process.
The event was held in the traditional surroundings of Restaurant Fonte de Pedra in Alcalar (north of the EN125 from Penina), where women of all ages brought items of clothing and accessories to swap. Organiser Suzy Turner told the Algarve Resident: “It was the perfect opportunity to meet other like-minded women and update our wardrobes at the same time!”
Organisers Karen Lennon, Suzy Turner, Bev Worrad and Paulette Fouche would like to thank “Fonte de Pedra owner Carlos Tiago for allowing the Walk In Wardrobe to be held at the restaurant free of charge, Fumeiro do Algarve for offering delicious smoked salmon, our very own ‘Gok Wans’ Nick and Tuck for much needed assistance, as well as being on hand to give some excellent fashion advice, our other ‘helpers’ on the day, the many local businesses that offered some wonderful raffle prizes and, most importantly, all those women who took part in the event and made the day such a huge success.”
The Walk In Wardrobe was held in aid of Project Madrugada, a new local charity that will offer palliative care to terminally ill patients in the Algarve. They will also be opening a new charity shop in Praia da Luz next week. For more information, or to offer your services, please contact Alison Blair on 964 951 570.
