‘Walk For Freedom’ in Faro against human slavery

The Walk For Freedom movement is organising a silent walk in Faro on October 15 at 3.30pm. The starting point is Jardim da Alameda de S. João de Deus, finishing at Marina de Faro.

This initiative is part of a worldwide movement to raise awareness of human slavery. Say organisers A21: “There are more slaves today than ever before in the history of human kind. We will walk in a single line, in silence, at the same time in more than 500 cities and 52 countries.”

This event is a collective effort led by A21, a global non-profit organisation “determined to end human trafficking through raising awareness, local intervention and support for survivors”.

A21’s desire with this annual edition of Walk For Freedom is to raise worldwide attention to human trafficking and modern slavery, as well as the possibility of raising funds to continue their work in rescuing, restoration and reconstruction of lives.
