This is the headline of a story today in Expresso, referring to past visits to Vilamoura by the daughters of Wagner group boss Yevgeny Prigozhin, currently believed to be in exile in Belarus following an aborted coup in Russia last weekend. Polina and Veronika Prigozhina have indeed visited Vilamoura, as competitors in the annual horse riding competition. Their last visit to Portugal was in 2020, and neither appear to have been particularly accomplished in equestrian terms. Expresso refers to the president of the jury of the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour 2020 “not even remembering them”.
