Workers for the Portuguese airline TAP have agreed to a 1.8 per cent wage increase after disputes led to strikes following three years without a pay rise for workers.
The announcement regarding the wage increase was made by the President of TAP, Fernando Pinto, via a letter sent to employees on February 18 in which he stated that the increase was a “reward for sacrifices” made in the last year.
The wage increase will affect 7,000 workers for the company and will be put in place from March 1.
