Vila Real de Santo António council has announced it will be covering the costs of all schoolbooks purchased for children who attend primary school in the municipality.
Parents need only buy the books and present the receipt – with the student’s NIF (tax identification number) – at the council to be reimbursed.
The borough will also be purchasing school supplies for VRSA’s 51 primary school classrooms.
The initiative will cost around €65,000 and help nearly 850 students.
