A health initiative that has paid much-needed eye surgery for over 400 people in Vila Real de Santo António since August 2014 has been renewed for another year by the local council and the Hospital Particular do Algarve (HPA) group.
Around €75,000 will be invested by the borough to keep the programme going.
The initiative, entitled ‘Cuidar’ (Caring), has also provided 6,500 free eye tests in VRSA since it was launched.
