THE FORMER president of Faro Câmara, José Vitorino, has given up his seat in the municipal assembly in protest against the way he has been treated.
Vitorino, a social democrat, accuses the socialist members of the municipal assembly and câmara president, José Apolinário, of not listening to him or respecting democratic rules.
Vitorino said he would only return to his seat if it was guaranteed that he could exercise his democratic rights.
