Tonight (Friday), Olhanense do battle with V. Guimarães at the José Arcanjo Stadium in Olhão, kick-off 8.15pm.
After 10 hours without a goal, the faithful fans are hoping that last season’s top goal scorer Djalmir will make an appearance after a six-month lay-off through injury. In an exclusive interview with the Algarve Resident earlier this week, the 33 year-old forward, who scored 20 goals last season, said: “I hope to play in the game on Friday if the doctor gives me good news. I am very happy to have received many good wishes from the British supporters. I was honoured to receive the British expats Player of the Season in May. The team has played well but we need to score goals.”
Under-21 international Castro has recovered from swine flu and hopes to be fit to play against the team that knocked Benfica out of the Millennium Cup at the Stadium of Light last weekend.
Olhanense are urrently in 12th position and made early exits from the Millennium Cup and Carlsberg League Cup so it is vital that they consolidate their position before difficult games against Marítimo (away) in Madeira on December 6 and Benfica (home) on December 12.
