Visit the Algarve with the Yellow Pages

A NEW tourist guide to the Algarve for 2006/2007 has just been launched by Páginas Amarelas SA (Yellow Pages). Combining telephone listings with a complete guide to the main streets and historic centres of the region, the publication is aimed at helping visitors by providing essential information in a simple format.

The guide has been published in two languages, Portuguese and English, and contains 25 maps and street plans of Portugal, making it easy to discover the main tourist sites and find out more about the history, architecture and gastronomy of the region.

Those using this guide can also take advantage of the easy-to-follow alphabetical telephone listings of restaurants, bars, hotels and many other facilities and services. Finally, the publication also includes some coupons offering discounts at various tourist establishments in the Algarve.

In total, 220,000 copies have been printed of this complimentary new guide, and there are more than 1,500 distribution outlets, which include tourism information points, train stations, petrol stations, hotels, rent-a-car establishments and restaurants throughout the region, as well as Faro Airport.
