A study conducted by Águas de Portugal has shown that traces of SARS-CoV-2 detected in effluent entering water treatment plants are eliminated during the treatment process.
This is another indication that the virus can be ‘contained’ relatively easily with chemicals already in use.
Explain reports, the study went ahead in areas where infections with the virus have been most prevalent and in which there are large hospitals.
