THE PORTIMÃO Conservatory of Music will be hosting a Suzuki Violin Workshop. The course on the subject ‘Foundations of the Suzuki Method’ is being offered for the first time in the Algarve on September 10 and 17.
This method, already part of the teaching system in the musical schools in Lagos, Portimão and Lagoa – all part of the Academia de Música de Lagos – by professor and master in violin João Pedro Cunha, has achieved the best results and praise from parents and guardians of students aged between three and nine years.
Professor Greg Morelli, who specialised in this method of music education and has teaching experience in Canada, the US and Portugal, was invited to conduct this course. The effect is to help pupils from three years of age to be able to learn the violin as naturally as they learn to speak.
