Villeroy & Boch premium tableware brand opens shop in Almancil

Villeroy & Boch, a premium German brand specialising in tableware for 275 years, has recently opened a shop in Almancil’s main street.

With 125 shops worldwide, this is the only flagship shop in Portugal. The entire shop was designed in Germany and customers are told they will find “top-quality tableware that lasts for decades due to its excellent quality”.

Owner José de Almeida Campos was born in Porto, but having lived in various countries around the world, he was drawn to the Algarve just under two years ago for its “excellent warm climate”. Recently, he became the main contact at Villeroy & Boch’s head office.

José explains that he likes the informal feel of the “Golden Triangle”, that although people come to his shop to buy top quality items, they often arrive in golf or tennis shorts, having just come from a sporting match. “There is a relaxed atmosphere among the people here,” he says.

In José’s shop, customers will find “high-quality table sets, cutlery, glasses, barbecue knives, pizza stones, and coffee mugs that are ahead of the trends” – but there is also a wide range of tableware that you can order from the Villeroy & Bosh catalogue, which arrives in the Algarve shop in 2-3 weeks. You can find traditional as well as modern and innovative collections.

José is offering a 10% discount to Golden Triangle residents.
