Participants from eight villages – Algoz, Budens, Cachopo, Estoi, Monchique, Odeleite, Querença and Vaqueiros, were asked to produce recipes typifying the heritage of each village, using traditional ingredients.
Tasting sessions took place in each village where a panel of nine judges appraised the entries. Prizes were awarding in four separate categories -– starter, soup, main dish
First prize in the four categories went to the villages of Vaqueiros, Odeleite, Cachopo and Monchique.
