The school is a co educational private day school with an international section that follows an English curriculum up to IGCSE, AS and A Level Cambridge exams, as well as a Portuguese section.

This year, pupils exceeded predicted expectations when 100 per cent of year 13 students were admitted into English and Portuguese universities. Impressively, the school achieved a 100 per cent pass rate at IGCSE level as well.

This is the fifth year running that Vilamoura has been the Algarve’s leading school in the published rankings system. According to a source from the college, the key to the student’s success is that “their education is based on knowledge construction – one of the most evident principles in the educational philosophy and methodology of Vilamoura International School”

The school has over 660 pupils representing over 42 nationalities.
