Preparations are underway for the annual Christmas Fair at the Vilamoura International School (CIV) to be held on Saturday, November 28, from 10am to 4pm. It will feature various stalls selling food, books, toys, crafts as well as entertainment for all ages.
The event, which has become a fun day out for families, is also an opportunity to raise funds for charity as part of the school’s bid to promote “human values and a better world”.
Father Christmas will arrive at the school at 11am bringing cheer to all the children and providing a photo opportunity. There will also be sessions with the CIV storytellers, activities such as face painting and drawing, music and the popular barbecue.
This year proceeds will be distributed among the social canteen in Quarteira, which provides daily meals to hundreds of people, temporary housing shelter Os Miúdos, a home for children who are victims of neglect and abuse, Big Hand, an institution that provides healthcare, food, education and shelter to Mozambican children through sponsorship, and Mariana Afonso Rita, a child with cerebral palsy (Facebook: Ajudem a Mariana).
