Delicious food, fine wines and unforgettable experiences are in store at the Vila Vita Parc’s Christmas and New Year festivities. The resort in Porches, Lagoa, is promising to create a festive atmosphere to ensure guests and visitors enjoy many special moments this season.
Between December 20 and January 3, there will always be something happening at the resort’s bars and restaurants, “with a wide selection of options to cater to all tastes.”
Kicking things off is a Christmas Food Market taking place at the Vila Vita Biergarten between December 20 and 22.
Open from 1pm to 8pm, this event promises to “celebrate the best national and international flavours with the magic of the Christmas fairs of Northern Europe”.
There will be eight wooden cabins selling all kinds of festive delights from amazing wines to Christmas hampers, wreaths and decorations. You can also buy a traditional Bolo-Rei Christmas cake made on the spot in a wood oven or indulge in some tempting dishes such as raclette cheese with potatoes and pickles, gyosas, traditional German sausages or waffles with toppings.
You can help wash it all down with a wide selection of craft beers, including Vila Vita’s very own craft beer, wines from Herdade dos Grous and Quinta de Valbom, hot chocolate, Christmas tea or mulled wine.
There will also be live music on December 21 and 22, starting at 3.30pm (Os Compota Funk Family and Ricardo Sousa & Banda, respectively). Admission to the market is free.
On Christmas Eve, Vila Vita’s Adega restaurant will be serving Portugal’s favourite ‘bacalhau’ (codfish) although those looking for something else can enjoy a ‘Gourmet Christmas Dinner’ at the two Michelin-starred restaurant Ocean for €210pp (not including drinks).
Santa Claus will also visit the resort to spend some time with the younger guests and their families, who will be able to enjoy some hot chocolate and other sweet delights.
The festivities continue on Christmas Day with a festive breakfast of French toast followed by lunch at the resort’s Atlântico restaurant (price €75pp). Outside the resort, there are festive menus being served at the Praia Dourada restaurant in Armação de Pêra (price €29pp) or at the Vila Vita Biergarten in Porches.
The following week, Vila Vita Parc will be holding its New Year’s Party entitled ’19-20 A Century in One Night’, which promises to take visitors on a journey through one century in just one night.
The party will begin in the 1920s and will revisit every two decades until the present day. There will be live music and a six-course gala dinner to enjoy followed by brunch on the first day of the year, for €325pp.
Guests can also choose to enjoy an even more exclusive eight-course dinner at Ocean for €490pp, while at midnight all guests will gather for a party at the Disco V-Club to enjoy the fireworks and dance the night away.
The seaside restaurant Praia Dourada in Armação de Pêra will also host a New Year’s Eve cocktail and three-course dinner and live music (€75pp).
