Members and friends of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs in the Algarve met for a grand dinner at the Ocean restaurant at Vila Vita Park near Porches.
General Manager, Kurt Gillig and his chef, Hans Neuner, put together eight courses, each complemented by perfectly chosen wine.
The 28 guests were greeted on a private terrace with glasses of Quinta Valdoeiro 2007 and an assortment of nibbles before sitting down for dinner at the Ocean restaurant where guests could enjoy the view over the sea.
The meal included goose liver with passion fruit served with coffee and macadamia nut brioche, and sea bass with a risotto of chouriço and baby squid.
Wines served with the meal included an unfiltered Moscatel de Setúbal from Casa Agricola Horácio de Simões 2005 and Umathum Haideboden 2000, a fine red wine from Austria which had been decanted from a pair of very impressive Jeroboams.
