Vila Vita Parc keeps busy during lockdown

Vila Vita Parc in Porches has announced that the resort will remain closed until “at least April 30” due to the coronavirus pandemic. But this does not mean clients won’t be able to take advantage from some of its services.

The Vila Vita Butcher at the Biergarten in Porches continues to sell specialist cuts of meat and other delicacies, mostly originating from the resort’s organic farm in the Alentejo, Herdade dos Grous.

“Opening hours are the same, but we do recommend that people call before visiting just to check that there haven’t been any changes,” says Katya Bauval, the resort’s Executive Director of Sales and Marketing.

The butcher is open Tuesday from 2pm to 6pm, Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 1pm and from 2.30pm to 6pm, and Saturday from 10am to 1pm.

Vila Vita Parc is taking the appropriate safety measures with regards to the number of customers that can be in the shop at any one time.

Exercise at home
Meantime, in another positive move, the resort has been sharing home workout tips and videos on its Facebook page to encourage all to stay active and healthy during the lockdown.

“Staying active is key to maintaining your physical and mental health. There are many ways to keep active at home. Some run up the stairs, others tidy up cupboards,” say the resort’s fitness coaches who have put together videos for simple home workouts that anyone can do and only take up a few minutes of your day.

A video with exercises that families with young children can do together has also been released.

Yoga instructor Daniela Luz has also shared a few simple breathing and meditation exercises, while head barman Joaquim Veras has shared a recipe for a “refreshing and healthy drink with lemon, a fruit found so easily in the Algarve”.

And to keep children busy and entertained, a colouring picture can be downloaded from the V-Life News website. “The best works” will be displayed on the resort’s Facebook page and will be eligible for a prize.
