Carlos Conceição could not believe his eyes when he looked at a solid block of marble at his Lusomarble factory in Vila Viçosa. Inside the relief, was the perfect outline of a dragon. The stone, that would be worth €70 a metre but has now taken on very much more expensive proportions, is due to be shipped to a Hong Kong businessman, who apparently wants to display it in his office.
As Conceição told reporters, “often people use their imagination to see things in the designs of marble, but this is the first time I have seen anything so obvious. It was perfect!”
