In a bid to “bring some joy to locals during an unprecedented time, encourage them to get their Christmas shopping done early this year and support local businesses”, Vila Real de Santo António has decided to light up the borough with Christmas lights.
The festive lighting displays were due to be inaugurated as the Resident went to press on Wednesday.
They have been set up along VRSA’s main Teófilo Braga and 5 de Outubro roads as well as Praça Marquês de Pombal.
Monte Gordo and Vila Nova de Cacela will also boast Christmas lights along Rua Pedro Álvares Cabral and Avenida Manuel G. Rosa Mendes, respectively.
Christmas decorations and lights were also due to be placed at the EN125 roundabouts.
