First edition attracts thousands of people
Over 5,000 people attended the first edition of Vila do Bispo’s Sea Fair (Feira do Mar), which took place in Sagres between June 30 and July 2.
Teresa Coelho, Secretary of State for Fishing, presided over the opening of the event in a ceremony attended by Vila do Bispo Mayor, Rute Silva, and Samuel Inês, President of M.A.R – Maresia Associação Recreativa.
The main objective of the Sea Fair was to promote sports activities related to the sea, as well as other related activities such as gastronomy and tourism.
The event featured a giant tent with 17 stands showcasing crafts, regional sweets, liqueurs, and sea-related products.
Visitors also were able to enjoy workshops, lectures, showcooking events, water sports, as well as a selection of food and drinks and live music.
