Vila do Bispo Council has awarded 26 university scholarships to local students pursuing higher education, the local authority announced last week.
The scholarships range from €635 to €6,350 for each student depending on their family’s income. The scheme has cost the council’s coffers just over €95,000 in total.
“With this measure, the council aims to guarantee that the socioeconomical condition of the students of Vila do Bispo does not prevent them from pursuing higher education,” the council added.
