(video) Hundreds of thousands share heart-warming video of Spanish welcoming Portuguese firefighters

A heartwarming video showing the Portuguese “cavalry” arriving in Spain over the weekend to help with a massive wildfire in the Extremadura has been viewed over 850,000 times and shows how much Portugal’s help was appreciated.

“Thank you, thank you!” are expressions clearly heard in the 1.42 minute clip that follows the 30 vehicles drafted in to make the difference needed in Sierra de Gata where fires had been raging for two days.

According to news reports, the fires consumed 6500 hectares of land and forced the evacuation of around 2,500 people.

Following Portugal’s intervention, the blaze was brought under control late on Sunday, and the firefighting heroes are now almost certainly back on national soil due to the ongoing fire threat here (click here http://portugalresident.com/portugal-on-fire-black-sunday-sees-364-blazes-with-26-boroughs-on-maximum-alert).

Posted late on Saturday night, the video has already been shared over 20,900 times.
