A new “sustainable luxury resort” is due to open on Tuesday, July 4, in Castro Marim.
Verdelago Resort describes itself as the “last paradise in the Algarve”, offering something that “so far did not exist in the region, from the privacy of around 50 luxury townhouses and apartments to exclusive services.”
The project was over 20 years in the pipeline but is finally coming to fruition under the management of Oxy Capital.
Apart from its apartments and townhouses, Verdelago also features a restaurant (Salicórnia), an open market, an infinity pool, a Wellness Dome, several sports fields, a pump track, several walking and cycling paths, a kids’ club and babysitting, and another pool in the resort’s central area. There are also plans to create an orchard and build a riding centre for horseback rides within the resort.
Construction of a five-star hotel with 197 rooms is due to begin at the end of the year and, “in seven to 10 years”, the resort is planning to have 2,000 beds, including 340 residential tourism units.
“We are much more than just a resort, and we are eager to welcome our guests and clients for an unforgettable hospitality experience,” said General Manager of Operations, Pedro Neto.
“We want Verdelago to be a destination that the local community can be proud of and truly consider their own.”
