Valverde Bowls Club celebrated their second anniversary with an Open Pairs competition on October 23.
Representatives from most of the bowling clubs in the Algarve entered and played a friendly yet competitive day’s bowling.
Secretary Jan McGlynn said: “We were pleased to have 10 visitors from the UK taking part. The format of 3 sets of 9 ends played throughout the day enabled bowlers to catch up with friends and also enjoy a buffet lunch provided by Don Camillo restaurant.”
Gerry and Jenny Jones (pictured) from Valverde Bowls Club took first place, John Davies and Reg Wheavil from the UK were second and Terry Kerry and Jeff Perry from Valverde Bowls Club third.
