Valverde Lawn Bowls Club held a quiz night on February 7 at the Don Camillo restaurant in Almancil. More than 70 members and guests attended.
Prior to the proceedings, six new members of the club were invited to enjoy a drink with the management committee and to be officially welcomed into the club.
Jorge and Flor prepared a delicious meal with a choice of either lamb or duck for the main course.
After the meal quizmaster Brian Pullin tested everyone’s general knowledge with questions on a wide range of topics. The winning team received bottles of wine, and everyone agreed it had been a good night.
The club wishes to thank Sue Hunt, the social secretary, for organising the event, Brian Pullin the quizmaster for getting the questions just right, and Jorge and Flor for their hospitality and excellent food.
The club hopes to hold further quiz nights in the future.
