Valverde Lawn Bowls Club in Almancil held its Anniversary Pairs competition on Sunday, October 23. Despite grey clouds, the rain held off and 24 pairs enjoyed a full day of bowls.
The competition is usually won by visitors and this year was no exception. In first place was Graham Martin and Chris Thatcher of Vilamoura Bowls Club with 45 points and a shot difference of 37.
Joe Scott and Chrissie Laskey of Tavira Bowls Club were the runners up with Paul Frampton and Alain Grenier of Valverde third.
The competition was sponsored by Ibex Insurance of Almancil. Angela Barden and Rui Gomes of Ibex presented the cups and prizes to the winners.
