Loulé is going all-out to make sure Valentine’s Day goes with a swing.
In customary celebration of the romantic date, local traders are offering clients delicious chocolate and marzipan sweets made especially for the occasion by sweets’ specialists Loulé Doce. The delights will be available all the way to the big day on February 14.
The initiative – promoted by the local authority and retailer’s association ACRAL – is designed to lure people in to enjoy the bountiful joys of local shops.
And this year, visitors will get more than just sweets.
For every purchase over €10, shoppers will qualify for a bumper competition offering all sorts of prizes, including stays at hotels, dinners, SPA massages, and special invitations to exclusive clubs.
The final draw will take place on February 17, with winners being able to claim their prizes right through to the end of the month.
In an explanatory press release, the borough council said: “On such a special day for those who are in love, the retail sector is trying to come up with ways to attract as many clients as possible”.
