Local bathers on Burgau beach couldn’t believe their eyes when a touch of glamour hit the beach on June 20, as students from Years 11-13 were celebrating the end of courses in IGCSE and Advanced Level subjects.
They started their big night out with a photo session against the background of the Atlantic coastline, organised by Madalena Machado.
They then proceeded up the winding hill to the recently relocated Atomik café which had been tastefully and painstakingly prepared by members of the party, namely Lily Shelton, Jessica Mota, Alice Millward and Marten Moeller for the occasion, with blue and green décor, in keeping with the school colours.
After the serving of snacks and aperitifs, during which the students were joined by friends and members of staff, they were then served with the main meal.
After some informal after-dinner speeches in which teachers and students recalled their time together, the 20 students elected Marten Moeller as the Prom King and Lily Shelton as the Prom Queen, who subsequently led the dancing until dawn: well, almost!
