Vale do Lobo residents raise funds for local charity

The Wolf Valley Charity Fund (WVCF) enjoyed a successful dinner and dance at Vale do Lobo’s auditorium on November 6, raising €11,000 for an Almancil charity.

Peter Geer, President of the Wolf Valley Charity Fund, welcomed the 117 guests and thanked the Vale do Lobo Group of Companies for its continuing support, and the local community, donors and sponsors for their help over the years.

A raffle and an auction conducted by Vale do Lobo’s CEO Diogo Gaspar Ferreira helped to boost funds raised on

the evening.

Auction items included flights, hotel accommodation, a gourmet Michelin-starred restaurant package, paintings, rounds of golf with golf pros and a one month’s rental of a hot tub.

The dinner and dance follows the WVCF Golf and Family Day event on June 5, which raised €35,000.

The main charity being supported this year is ASCA – Associação Social e Cultural de Almancil – which is completing the building of a new residential care home for old people and the WVCF will provide up to €70,000 worth

of furnishings.

The WVCF was founded in 1999 by a group of Vale do Lobo residents with the aim of supporting local Portuguese charities and people in need.
