Vale do Lobo hosts Sports Showcase Week

Vale do Lobo resort is hosting, until the end of the month, a Sports Showcase Week, a series of sport and well-being activities that aim to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

One of the highlights promises to be Friday’s Run, a 10km walk or run in support of the Wolf Valley Charity Fund and the Algarve Food Bank (Banco Alimentar Contra a Fome Algarve) on Friday, October 29.

According to the resort, the number of interested participants has been so high that organisers are no longer accepting registrations.

The run begins in the Parque do Golfe at 8.30pm, with a warmup session before runners and walkers set out along the route which has been designed to “allow everyone to enjoy some of the most stunning areas of Vale do Lobo while also keeping fit with friends and family.

“Keeping fit and healthy is important for everyone, and running or walking in the great outdoors is the perfect way to maintain fitness while also being an environmentally friendly activity open for everyone of all abilities,” the resort says.

Many other activities are planned until Sunday, such as padel and tennis group coaching sessions which are open to anyone “no matter your age or ability”.

You can also challenge yourself to a 30-minute indoor cycling class, described as “short but full-on”, or a “fun and fast-paced” 30-minute ‘Bum Bum Fit’ class.

Also planned is a session of cross-training, a full-body workout that mixes aerobics, strength training, and flexibility. It is described as a “great way to condition different muscle groups, develop a new set of skills, and reduce the boredom that creeps in after months of the same exercise routines.”

Yoga lovers will also be able to relax with a yoga session on Halloween morning (October 31).
