Vale do Lobo hosts free walk/run on Friday

Collection of goods for Ukraine also planned

Vale do Lobo resort is preparing for the fifth edition of its free Friday’s Run, an exciting 5km or 10km walk or run taking place on Friday, May 20 at 7.30pm.

The event takes participants on a “unique trail around the resort, including sections on the beach, over the golf courses and through the woodland”. The event is non-competitive, and there is also a special accessible route for those who require assistance.

The run begins in the Parque do Golfe, with a warm-up session before runners and walkers set out along the route. Says the resort, the route was designed “to allow everyone to enjoy some of the most stunning areas of Vale do Lobo while also keeping fit with friends and family.”

“Keeping fit and healthy is important for everyone, and running or walking in the great outdoors is the perfect way to maintain good fitness levels while also being an environmentally friendly activity open for everyone of all abilities,” it adds.

The event is organised in partnership with the non-profit Algarviana Team running group, Loulé Council, Infralobo E.M. and Vale do Lobo.

At the same time, and as a way of helping and supporting Ukraine, Vale do Lobo is also organising a collection of goods for charity, so that each participant in this event can also bring their own contribution for donation on race day. Among the non-perishable food items needed are products such as tinned food, pasta, rice, olive oil, vegetable oil, flour, salt, sugar, energy bars, biscuits or dried fruit, among others.

Registration for this free event is required for insurance purposes.
