Members of the Almancil International Rotary Club (AIRC) visited Lisbon and the American Embassy to discuss possible future joint projects.
American Ambassador to Portugal, Alfred Hoffman, Jr., a nominated honorary member of the club, spoke with Leif Axelsson, president of AIRC, and Soren Hojbjerg, vice-president, about developing youth exchange ideas, among other issues.
“The afternoon proved to be stimulating and encouraging and both Ambassador Hoffman and I are looking forward to the coming mutually arranged programmes,” Axelsson said.
AIRC meet every Wednesday between 1.30pm and 3pm at the Restaurant Couleur France in Almancil. On March 14, Dr. Ann Marie Thro, from the United States department of Agriculture will speak on genetically modified organisms.
